I have an awkward question about wars, school shooters and office supplies.
The spectrum of evil slides from the really big stuff like: conscious environmental degradation (“vital for the survival of our way of life”), pernicious capitalism (“major profit taking today”), theocratic sacrifice (“protect tradition”), school shootings (“I showed 'em”) and so forth -- all the way down through Congressional action / inaction (“The President was OUTRAGEOUS!”), Presidential actions (“I had to act!”) through state government (“pre-emptive laws”) to school yard bullying (“He looked at me funny”) and family squabbles to crimes, slurs, and all sorts of petty wounds and attacks – not to mention impulse sales and an entire retail industry of consumer goods -  are primarily driven one thing: APPARENT NECESSITY.
